We all know the basic knowledge of childbirth starting from the moment when the mother is pregnant and throughout the nine months of pregnancy to finally giving birth to a baby. It is a precious and fragile creation of nature. The process that continues the existence of humankind.
On the other hand, do we have a clear and vivid vision of every step of pregnancy? Not just what the mother goes through in their outer appearance of gaining weight and bulging stomach but the actual steps of the ingrown fetus. If not, you are in for a treat.
Scientist and groundbreaking photographer Lennart Nilsson’s obsession with human specimen has brought us a million stages nearer to what was once inexplicable, the sight of human formation. His photographs that we have attached below will show you a whole new spectrum of how an egg and a sperm fuse to become a living baby.
Step 1: The journey of the Spermatozoa in the fallopian tube.
This is the first stage of the whole conception process. The sperm cell travels toward the egg through the fallopian tube to initiate its fusion with the ovum.
Step 2: The one matured egg which came out of the ovary to meet the sperm cell.
In this stage, one matured egg is produced and released from the ovary and it travels toward the fallopian tube. The process is called ovulation.
Stage 3: The meet and greet of the egg and sperm cell.
Fast-swimming sperm can reach the egg in a half an hour, while others may take days.
Stage 4: The moment where one sperm from among millions is chosen and goes inside the egg.
This amazing picture shows the exact moment when a sperm cell digs the outer wall of the egg and sneaks inside.
